After the review of the damage to the Washington Cold Storage facility in Puyallup, the Company has determined that continued operations at that facility will not be possible. Operations at the Kent, Washington facility are not affected by the fire.
The Company is working with customers to help them find alternate storage for their goods that were normally stored in Puyallup. The fire will displace some employees but other cold storage companies have reached out to Washington Cold Storage with opportunities for our employees and have offered assistance for our customers.
Washington Cold Storage employees are very appreciative of the support given to them by the community and wish to thank in particular the Puyallup Fire Department and all first responders that assisted at the fire.
The warehouse facility provided storage for frozen and refrigerated goods for 35-40 customers. The company is working with our customers to find new warehouse space.
Washington Cold Storage has 12 employees including warehousemen, mechanics and administrative staff.
Washington Cold Storage is a privately owned company that has been in business for over 30 years and still operates a smaller facility in Kent Washington.
